waste of money

its only a 3 second loop, its definetly NOT 1080p! Its just as blurry as the screenshot suggests.

Great improvement

Thanks for cleaning up the sound and video. Very nice. I like to have the app on when I read analog books.

Thanks for the update!

It looks perfect now in HD, plus the choice of fireplaces now too! Well done, I love it.

Thanks for the update.

Great improvment, went from 1 star to 5 with the update. Love the stone theme. Consider holiday themes as well.

Great App.

The visual is stunning (Even on a 24inch screen). The sound is authentic. You dont see or hear any loops; it is very realistic. GREAT job guys.

The visual quality of videos is excellent, and sound is pretty good too... But man, the first of the three fireplaces (happens to be my favourite) has a terrible loop point. It seems as though no effort at all was put into making a smooth transition on that video. The app desperatly needs some work on looping that video with a smooth disolve or something, the current loop point really detracts from the effect. That issue aside the app achieves its goal at creating a relaxing ambience. I would suggest for the next update: 1. Please remember my last used settings and return to them upon app startup. If I had it in fullscreen on fireplace one, please return to that. 2. Allow arrow keys and/or number keys to switch fireplaces. 3. Over time, offer more fireplaces as optional downloads perhaps. I would love to see green/blue fire or a camp fire etc. If this is to be THE fireplace app may as well invest in plently of high quality recordings. All in all a its a great start. Keep up the great work.

As already noted in this forum but worth repeating, all 3 loops hang or stutter at the repetition point (which comes frequently as they are short loops). This flaw is highly annoying and ruins what is otherwise a great effect! Please fix!

Small glich but great app !

There is a rough edit, ( slight delay) in the loop in fireplace #1 ( brick fireplace ). Smooth that out and you have a winner!!

I thought the fire would be relaxing to look at, but the video is being played at such a fast speed it makes me anxious. If it were slower, Id be more inclined to keep the app running.

I try all the apps or screensaver of fireplace (and spend money on it) and thats the only one that remind me of my parents fireplace, that I see every christmas time and sleep in front of. Same sound, same look, same intensity of light without that stupide stop in the middle of the sound replay. Thats the only one who look like real fireplace.

When I have a party I leave it on in the background. Since I do not sit and stare at the screen I notice no loop issues or the otherwise. Its a 99 cent app, its good for what it does. Good job!

I love this app! Free one was okay but the paid version is totally worth a dollar to be able to dismiss the menu and get the higher rez videos. The video looks good and the ambiance of the sound is wonderful. Ran it the entire time just a christmas party and I feel like every single guest complimented me on the effect this app had. Thanks guys! note: Id love some new videos, especially a campfire of some kind and maybe a closeup of a fire with glowing logs. note: I prefer video #3 and didnt try the first one, so see other reviews about how it stutters when looping. note: It would be nice to be able to move the menu to the corner rather than having it in the center. It would also be nice to be able to change the time it stays on screen after you stop moving the mouse, as I want the menu to be dissappeared as much as possible. At my party guests near the mouse kept moving it slightly by accident and the menu looks ugly.

1) Its only a few minutes of fireplace video 2) Sound is not so good, but most of all there are a few noises on the back and one of them is really distractive Come on guys, is it really so hard to do such an easy app right? Waiting for update, hoping for change;)

v1.1: HD+++ the high res version is much improved. I run it on the living room projector, so you can really tell the difference. v1: Im going to enjoy leaving this on the living room computer on days when it snows. Have a few friends over for a drink this evening at my place in NYC and its as close as were going to get to the ski lodge feel in awhile. Sweet app.

Nice that its HD. Tried the others here and this is the best one. What id like to see would be: 1) louder volume 2) the 2nd fire is too zoomed out. 3) the 3rd is too zoomed in 4) add more fires It would be great if this could play on the apple tv

there are four fireplace apps in the app store right now and this is the absolute winner! Best video Quality. Best UI. And most customizability. I hopre for more updates with more fireplaces in the future. Thanks for a great app.

I saw this as a featured app and thought it would be kitschy to run it on my second monitor when Im not actively using it. Its not advertised to do this but I thought Id try it. I found that indeed there are some problems if you try to run it this way. 1) If the fireplace app is in full screen mode on the second monitor, you cannot use Cmd-Tab to switch between applications. 2) The dialog box comes up often ruining the effect. Its too bad this app doesnt follow Apples convention of providing a preferences panel instead of the dialog. 3) When running it uses a lot of CPU.
