Awsome. Worth every one of the 0.99 cents and more. Im glad they offered a free demo. Why would anyone be upset about a free demo for a $0.99 app which is so nice?

Burning hot!
great picture and sound. showed my mom and she jumped because she thought my laptop was on fire ;) thanks!
Just wanted to say that these guys did a AMAZING job with the newest update!!! I wrote an earlier review, and everything I spoke of was enhanced! Looks incredible guys!! Dont hesitate on this app! Well worth the purchase! Makes my livingroom sexy as hell! ;)
I love this app. Its so simple but it works. The sound makes it seem so real. i would recomend this to anyone who enjoys sitting by the fire.
Definitely better than the demo and i just love this app. It gives me an illusion of heat when its on. I use this to fall asleep sometimes!
Very short loops-about 15 seconds. At end of loop, scene jumps, transition to start of loop jerky, parrticularly bad in the Brick one-scene stops dead and restarts. TRY their Fireplace Free app (I have not). Yes, it IS a fireplace. They BOAST that they ACTUALLY SHOT VIDEO OF A FIREPLACE! Ohhhh, wowee, IMPRESSIVE! 45 seconds of fire. Mmm, yummy! BARELY acceptable.
After reading the review by Edward R., I decided it was definitely worth $.99 to see if I get as much fulfillment from this application as he did. One can only hope that my life incurs as many positive changes as Edward. Also I wanted the chance to try out my new Dragon Dictate. Im not so sure Im that happy with the Dictate, but something tells me now that I have this application, only good things are going to happen for my life From now on. I am completely psyched! Thank you!
Overall, I like the app - the fireplaces are nice and in HD really pop on my Macbook Pro screen or on my TV. However, if you move the mouse in at all, the dialog box comes up, completely ruining the effect...which makes using it on a 2nd screen totally useless. Once that feature is fixed (e.g. just make a preferences box that goes away completely), then the app would be 5 stars. Until then, only 3. More fireplaces would be nice too...but it is only a buck, so that is fine.
This app does look good, but the sound is horrible. It sounds like an airplane mixed with a fireplace. 1. Need better sound 2. interactive - I want to be able to put a log on the fire - How about a picture above the fireplace, that we can add our own picture - Maybe an option to add christmas lights - I want to be able to stoke the fire Bottom line, you get what you pay for. $.99 gets you a looping video with poor sound
Nicely priced at $.99 for the time being. It does just what one would expect. Thank you.
I really love the quality of the image on my Full HD projector. I am typically sitting a few feet away from my Mac though and would really love it if the fireplace could be remote controlled, e.g. through the Apple Remote.
Its a fun little $0.99 app, but some improvements will for sure go a long way: 1) Longer fire clips. The clips feel like they are about 10 seconds long, and then they repeat. I may not be exactly right, but that is the feeling I get from watching this. 2) More UI Polish. The UI on this app, while simple, is annoying at best. When you enter fullscreen mode, it does not hide your mouse (it may not be able to as per Apples prohibition of private APIs), but it then makes matters worse by popping up a menu when the mouse is moved. In effect, you try and close the menu and move the mouse to the corner of the screen and the menu pops back up. 3) Like another reviewer, a few more fires (and longer clips of those) would be great. Overall, its a fun app. But could be something I use on a regular basis is the short duration loops didnt make me slightly nausiated.
thought id give this a whirl. really choppy playback on my brand new mac mini. bit disappointed. hopefully it gets fixed. otherwise looks really nice.
Its quite nice and relaxing, but occasionally the fire freezes for a half of second. This happens on my iMac with i5 processor, which is a bit frustrating. Please fix.
Overall this is an awsome app, I found you can resolve the popup issue when using a 2nd monitor by clicking Fireplace App -> About Fireplace App, It dosent accually bring up the about page but it prevents the popup untill the next time you click on the fireplace screen. Also you can click on spaces in the dock (because the hot corners are disabled). I would consider adding the ability to change sounds (but keep the one you have now) however it would be nice to give it a bit more of the deep roar you might expect from a fire this size.
One question: How do I get the marshmallow off my screen?
I dont like the slight pauses between loops. Its irritating and I know it can be done better. I think there is still too much backgroud noise pollution (hiss). It can be fixed with simple EQ technology, just make the effort to do it. Otherwise the sound is great and the video is very nice, except for the nearly intolerable pause in the loop. Loops could still be longer, I mean, how hard IS it? I think a couple of the pans are too far out. Id rather see more of the fire burning than the outside of the fireplace. Crackling is nice, overall a nice app with great potential; needs an update to fix a few issues. I would recommend it (talk it up) if just a few modifications were made. Please work on it and give us an update, I would give it a 5 star rating if you fixed these few issues. Like I said, a lot of potential to become a standard app. just work on it a little more. :~)
I bought this app because it advertised 1080p and it does not disappoint. However, the video loop is too short and I occasionally see a visual glitch as the video recycles.
The quality is pretty good for the first fireplace, the second and third ones are a little too zoomed out or in, would be awesome if it could be even more interactive or realistic, such as a feature to add more wood or if there was a video loop lasted until the flame actually extinguished.
